Heisman Trophy Winner Leads Quarterback Group
Cincinnati Bengals Select Burrow First Overall
Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow put on a show at the NFL Combine, cementing his status as the top quarterback prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2019, showcased his arm strength, accuracy, and mobility, impressing scouts and analysts alike.
With his impressive performance at the Combine, Burrow solidified his position as the potential No. 1 overall pick in the draft. The Cincinnati Bengals, who hold the top pick, are widely expected to select Burrow, who would be the first quarterback taken first overall by the Bengals since Carson Palmer in 2003.
Burrow led LSU to an undefeated season and a national championship in 2019, completing 76.3% of his passes for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. He also rushed for 368 yards and five touchdowns.
The NFL Draft will be held on Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24. Burrow is expected to be one of the first players off the board, and could become the first player from LSU to be selected first overall since JaMarcus Russell in 2007.
