Chelsea Reach All-English Champions League Final
2-0 Victory Over Real Madrid Seals Spot
Chelsea secured their place in the all-English Champions League final with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid on Wednesday. The Blues' 3-1 aggregate triumph sets them up for a clash with Manchester City in the Istanbul showpiece on May 29.
Late Goals Seal Victory
Timo Werner opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 28th minute, but it was Mason Mount's 85th-minute strike that sealed the victory. The goal came after N'Golo Kante won the ball in Real Madrid's half and drove down the right-hand side. Mount was on hand to finish off the move and send Chelsea into the final.
The match was a tense affair throughout, with both teams having chances to score. However, Chelsea's defense held firm and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy made several crucial saves. In the end, the Blues' quality proved too much for Real Madrid, who were without injured captain Sergio Ramos.
