The sister of Jeanne, the victim of a cold case murder that was finally solved in 2023, spoke at the sentencing hearing of the perpetrator, Jerry Westrom. She expressed her heartbreak for Westrom's wife and children, who have also been victims in this tragedy.
Westrom Sentenced to Life in Prison
Westrom, 56, was sentenced to life in prison for the first-degree premeditated murder of Jeanne. He was also found guilty of second-degree intentional murder.
According to court documents, Westrom's wife stated that they had liquidated all their assets and sold their century-old home to support him during the trial. Despite this, he was not found guilty of first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Westrom Leaves Court After Closing Arguments
Westrom left the court after closing arguments on Thursday morning, accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth Ann. He did not speak to reporters or family members.
